From Pseudo-Dionysius through Eckhart, Tauler, Suso, and the anonymous 'Cloud of Unknowing.' The Rhineland mystics (c. 1250-1350) represent the peak: Eckhart's Seelengrund (ground of the soul), his Gelassenheit (releasement/letting-be), and his radical theology of the Godhead beyond God. 28 of Eckhart's propositions were condemned as heretical in 1329 — making his work academically radioactive for centuries. Böhme (1612) extended the tradition with his Ungrund (the abyss before God). The entire stream fed directly into German Idealism via Schelling.
